I've heard of moose in the area, and today we got to see two of them. We were only minutes from Salt Lake City off the Dell Mountain Recreation Area exit on I-80. It was not a good day for photos -- poor lighting conditions -- but we went scouting near a reservoir in the Wasatch Mountains and spotted the local wildlife nearby. It's not the best photo, but my primary thought was to grab a shot before they ran away. They moved up the mountain and behind the trees. We watched for a few minutes and then drove on hoping to discover some other moose (or any wildlife) along our way. We found a new place to go for sledding, some trail heads, and people snow shoeing, but no more wildlife. We'll be back, though, in better conditions and with more time to explore the trails through the canyons.
