Chicago: Sky Deck atop the Willis Tower

Formerly named and still referred to as the Sears Tower, Willis Tower is a monumental building in downtown Chicago.  The tower stands an impressive 1450 feet tall!  Then add the towers that top it for another almost 300 feet!  The Sky Deck itself is 1353 feet high.  The views are fantastic, but it's real draw is The Ledge.  You can stand on a glass extension (like a little room that sticks out) and see the traffic far below your feet.  We went during the week, after the busy summer tourist season, so it was fairly quiet and uncrowded, but even still, we had to wait in line to stand on The Ledge, waiting for people to pose over and over for their selfies "floating" above the city.  We did not stay for sunset, and the crowd was increasing as we left.

Here is a view from Sky Deck. You can easily make out the Hancock Center, which we also visited recently (click here for post).
