This and That Thursday: Dramatic and Intricate Works of Art in Nature

Mud and wind and eons of time conspire to create intricate and dramatic works of art that architects can only attempt to replicate.  We recently discovered Cathedral Gorge State Park in Nevada, and it awed us.  The spires tower above us with beauty that is breath-taking.  It is also a fun place to explore as we wandered in a maze of the naturally formed spires, some dead ends, some trails and slot canyons.  Beyond the cathedral area, there is a trail that continues into the scenic canyon.  During our time exploring this park, storm clouds posed and shifted, always threatening to dump on us, but the rains held off or moved to rain on someone else's day elsewhere.  The park was fun for the whole family (including the "puppy.")   Nature's Cathedral (Nevada)Nature's Cathedral (Nevada) Cathedral Gorge (Nevada)Cathedral Gorge (Nevada) Cathedral of the AgesCathedral of the Ages
